Shorewood Man Killed in Rhinelander Crash

Posted on July 9th, 2010 No Comments

A man from Shorewood died early Thursday morning in a Rhinelander car accident.

According to police, 69 year-old Louis C. Costanzo was traveling west in a 1996 Toyota Camry shortly before 2:00 a.m. Thursday when the accident occurred. Authorities say he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a tree about a half-mile west of the Portage exit.

The force of impact caused the Camry to burst into flames, trapping Costanzo in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Burns Harbor Police Department, Portage Fire Department, and Porter County Coroner’s office assisted at the scene.
