Police ID Chippewa Falls Man Killed in Rhinelander Crash

Police have released the name of a Chippewa Falls man who died after a fiery Rhinelander car accident Sunday.

According to officials with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, 50 year-old Thomas J. Hoehn was behind the wheel of a car that crashed on U.S. 8 Sunday. Police say Hoehn was traveling southbound on U.S. 8 west of Highway N in the town of Woodboro, shortly after 1:00 p.m. when the crash occurred. The initial investigation shows that Hoehn’s vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees.

Oneida County Emergency Medical Services, the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office, Woodboro First Responders, and Crescent Fire Department officials all responded to the crash. Hoehn was transported to an area hospital after the accident, where he died of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
