Woman sentenced to jail after reckless driving charge

A woman was fined and sentenced to jail after a reckless driving accident occurred on Sept. 9 and left her friend with a head injury.

The 28-year-old driver was pulling her vehicle out of the garage when her friend was on top of the hood. She began to move the car as a joke, but then slammed on the brakes and this jolt caused the woman to fall off of the hood of the car.

The 19-year-old suffered a fractured skull as a result of hitting her head on the pavement.  The driver plead no contest in the incident and the victim plead to the jury for them to not punish the driver harshly because it was her fault. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined almost $900.
