Bus flips, injuring 2

Two people were sent to the hospital Thursday afternoon when a runaway sport utility vehicle slammed into a school bus in Rhinelander, Wis., authorities said. Police said it appeared that brake failure kept a northbound woman from stopping as she approached the southbound bus. The SUV hit the bus and came to rest against a tree on the side of the road, authorities said.

The bus, carrying only one passenger, spun sideways and flipped, police said. The passenger, a young boy, suffered no major injuries in the accident, authorities said. Police said that both drivers were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander.
