Crash injures three from Lincoln County

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department announced that a two-vehicle crash occurred by the town of Somo yesterday afternoon, leaving three people injured.

The crash, taking place on Highway 8 at Garvin’s Place, happened some time around 3:50 p.m. After the force of the collision, one of the cars drove off of the road, causing it to hit a tree and telephone pole. This damage lead firefighters from the Tomahawk Fire Department to rush to help two people from that car’s wreckage. Another person did not require assistance.

Taken by helicopter, the driver of that car was rushed to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, although the injuries sustained from the crash were not considered life threatening. The other two passengers sustained minor injuries from the incident.

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured and required no additional assistance in leaving the vehicle.

A police investigation has not revealed the cause of the crash yet, but authorities are certain that alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
