Three Lakes Teen Injured in Rhinelander Auto Accident

A 16 year-old boy from Three Lakes was injured in a Rhinelander truck accident Friday morning.

According to officials with the Rhinelander Police Department, the accident occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Lake Julia Road near the intersection of Scott Lake Road. Police say a semi-truck driven by a 66 year-old Crandon man was traveling westbound on Lake Julia Road when an eastbound car collided with the truck head-on.

Authorities say icy road conditions were a contributing factor to the crash.

The teenage driver was pinned in his vehicle following the accident. Rhinelander Fire Department personnel worked to extricate the boy from his vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander with minor leg injuries, police said.
