Honda Announces Global Recall of 700K Vehicles

Honda South Africa has announced a recall of almost 700,000 cars worldwide for a technical fault.

Honda said on Thursday it was recalling 693,497 vehicles due to a defective part that could stall their engines and cause problems restarting in certain models. The move comes just two months after auto giant was forced to call back almost 1.35 million vehicles in December.

The recall includes Honda’s Freed compact minivan, Fit compact car, and City sedan. The vehicles include defective spring parts that could deteriorate over time, resulting in abnormal sounds and possible engine stalling.

Honda Japan spokeswoman Natsuno Asanuma said about 97,000 units would be recalled in the United States but no accidents associated with the defect had been reported.

If you have been injured as the result of an auto defect, you may be entitled to compensation. To discuss your case, please contact the Rhinelander auto defect lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, by calling 800-242-2874.
