One Killed in Rhinelander Car Accident

A Lodi woman was killed in a Rhinelander car accident Friday afternoon.

According to officials with the Washara County Sheriff’s Office, 72 year-old Jacqueline L. Parks, of Lodi, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on County Highway O in the Town of Rose. Authorities say Parks was the driver and lone occupant of a 2008 Buick Lucerne traveling south on the highway. Parks failed to negotiate a turn, lost control of her vehicle, crossed the center line of the roadway and entered a ditch and overturned, police said.

The Wisconsin State Patrol, Wautoma and Wild Rose Rescue personnel assisted at the scene, along with Waushara County Sheriff’s deputies. The accident remains under investigation.

The fatality was the first traffic death in Waushara County in 2011.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.
