Woman, Child Injured in Rhinelander Speeding Accident

A woman and a child were injured in a Rhinelander speeding accident Thursday morning.

According to an Oneida County Sheriff’s Department accident report, deputies responded to a report of an accident shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Highway 8 near the intersection of Shady Rest Road in the town of Woodboro.

A woman injured in the accident was transported by ambulance to Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander for treatment. A child was taken to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. No information on the nature or extent of their injuries has been released.

The names of the people involved in the crash have not been released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
