Fire Hazard Prompts Honda Civic Recall

Honda Motors hass issued a recall of 1,156 vehicles due to a fire hazard.

Accoridng to officials with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall involves 2012 modely year two-door and four-door Honda Civics made between April 21, 2011 and May 2, 2011. The recall was issued over concerns that a seal in a gas line may be misaligned, posing a fire hazard, regulators said.

In a statement released by the NHTSA, the agency said there “is a possibility that an O-ring, which seals a connection in the fuel feed line, is misaligned. If the O-ring is misaligned, a small fuel leak may occur.”

Honda said the recall would commence on Friday. Dealers will inspect affected vehicles and replace the fuel feed line assembly free of charge.
