Man Injured in Rhinelander Motorcycle Accident

A man was injured in a Rhinelander motorcycle accident Saturday night.

According to officials with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, the identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld until his family members are notified of the accident. Deputies say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the motorcycle accident.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department accident report, the motorcycle accident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Highway CC. Deputies say the motorcyclist was traveling south on CC when a deer entered the roadway. The driver was unable to avoid the animal. Witnesses said he attempted to slow down for the deer but was unable to stop in time.

The man was found in the roadway with severe injuries. He was transported by ground ambulance to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk, then later airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
