One killed in two-vehicle Green County crash

A Wisconsin car accident involving two vehicles resulted in the death of a 16-year-old New Glarus man.

The man lost control of his Oldsmobile Alero while he was driving westbound on Yarwood Road in Brooklyn Township Monday night. The vehicle briefly ran off of the road into the ditch and then swerved back onto the roadway, crashing into an SUV.

According to officials, the collision caused severe damage to both vehicles involved. The driver of the SUV sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the University of Wisconsin Hospital. Sadly, the driver of the Oldsmobile was killed when the vehicle caught on fire after the crash.

The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Green County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate the accident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.
