Nearly 1.3 million vehicles recalled by BMW

BMW AG has recalled 1.3 million cars across the world after it was found that they could have a faulty cable cover that may cause electrical malfunctioning in the vehicle.

The car maker announced that the recall could potentially affect the 5-and-6-series  BMW models made between 2003 and 2010.

According to a statement made by BMW, the issue  “can result in the electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start and, in some cases, to charring or fire.”

Officials have stated that they have written car owners so that they can have their vehicle repaired free of charge. So far, only 1 percent of the vehicles taken in have had the faulty battery cover.
