Research shows only half of drivers use turn signals

Researchers interviewed 12,000 drivers nationwide on whether or not they use a turn signal while driving and it was found that nearly 48 percent of drivers fail to do so.

Of this group, 42 percent stated that they did not use a blinker because they did not have time while driving while the rest of the group stated that they were too lazy to do so. It is a law in every state to use a blinker when changing lanes, passing other vehicles or turning.

Only is it a law to use a turn signal, not using one causes more than two million accidents a year. In the state of New York it was determined that unsafe lane changes were the fifth most common reason that accidents occurred.
