Elderly Greendale Resident Killed by Car

Late last month, a delivery car struck an elderly female pedestrian, resulting in her death.

82-year-old Beatrice Salo, a local resident, was crossing the street along a crosswalk at the intersection of South 68th Street and West Grange Avenue when a car delivering Jimmy John’s sandwiches hit her.

Investigators reported that Salo was wearing dark clothing and that her purse and shoes were found lying on the ground.

No reliable witnesses were available to shed light on the incident although Wisconsin investigators are hoping that cameras at the intersection could provide more information.

Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as being factors in the crash, and authorities are continuing their investigation.

Our thoughts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones.
