Kenosha man in fatal head-on crash identified

A fatal motorcycle accident involving a Kenosha man occurred along Highway 45 around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1st.

59-year-old John A. Matson was identified the following day by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department as the man who was killed in a motorcycle crash that occurred after a head-on collision with a car.

Matson was speeding northbound on his motorcycle when he slammed into a car that was heading southbound. The accident occurred after he tried to pass another vehicle and drove in a “no pass” zone.

The driver of the car involved in the accident was identified only as a 41-year-old female who was flown to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s Department added that Matson didn’t have his helmet on and that they’re still investigating whether he was under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened.
