Man who confessed on YouTube pleads guilty to DUI

The man who uploaded a short video on YouTube, confessing to accidentally killing a man, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, September 18 to aggravated vehicular homicide.

A sentence of 2 to 8 ½ years of imprisonment could await 22-year-old Matthew Cordle after he also pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol when striking and killing Vincent Canzani in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 670 on the night of June 22, 2013.

Lawyers representing Cordle said their client is taking responsibility for the fatal crash and that he wanted to make good on his pledge.

The 3 ½ minute video uploaded by Cordle weeks ago went viral after it was watched more than 1.9 million times. He ended the video by advocating viewers not to drink and drive.

Sadly, at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, our legal team knows that many people in Rhinelander sustain injuries or, tragically, die in vehicular accidents caused by drunk drivers.
