Manitowoc woman charged with DUI and child endangerment in car accident

A woman was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and for endangering a child after she was involved in car accident near Woodstock on Sunday, January 26.

According to reports, the incident happened at around 4 p.m. in Alden Township, when the southbound vehicle driven by Kelly Kufke, 36, crossed into the other lane and struck an oncoming vehicle. Kufke and the two children occupants in the vehicle were hospitalized, while the three passengers of the other vehicle were also sent to a hospital for treatment. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office also said that Kufke, who is now waiting for her trial, was also charged with improper lane use and for failing to reduce speed to prevent an accident.
