Over 28K Saab vehicles with defective seat belts recalled

Auto manufacturer General Motors (GM) is recalling about 28,789 Saab convertibles due to a possible seat belt failure that can increase the risk of injuries to its operators.

Reports said the 2004-2011 Saab convertibles are equipped with seat belt retractors in the driver’s seat that may break during the impact of a car accident. A GM spokesperson mentioned that if the retractors were to break, the seat belt wouldn’t be able to provide the necessary protection.

GM will address the problem by placing new retractors in the driver’s seat of the affected convertibles. So far, there have been no instances of injuries related to the seat belt retractor defect.

The lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® know that in Rhinelander alone, many people suffer serious injuries and great financial loss from operating vehicles with defects. If you have been injured in such an accident, you should not be responsible for shouldering the financial burden brought about by your car accident.
