Thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycles with brake issue recalled

Over 66,000 touring motorcycle models by Harley-Davidson are being recalled because the front brake line may become compromised, Motorcycle USA reported on July 9.

Reports said 66,421 motorcycles equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) may have their front brake line caught between the bike’s frame and fuel tank, causing the front wheel to stop. Documents about the recall published by the NHTSA explained that if the brake line got caught, brake fluid pressure may increase during operation and possibly lock the front wheel. Owners of the affected motorcycles will be notified by Harley and have their bikes fixed by dealers for free.

Motorcycle riders injured in accidents caused by a defect are often left devastated due to debilitating injuries and great financial loss.
