Bike patrol officers in Menomonie injured in OWI hit-and-run

Two bike patrol officers in Menomonie were recently injured after they were struck by an intoxicated driver, abc18 on September 4 stated.

Maloree Switlick and Daniel Westlund were patrolling 14th Avenue on September 2, when they were struck by a vehicle driven by Jacob Bruce. Both officers were taken to a hospital for the injuries they sustained, but are expected to fully recover. Bruce, 20, who fled the accident scene, was later apprehended after Switlick was able to provide the plate details of the vehicle. Hit-and-run, intoxicated driving resulting in injuries, underage drinking, and several other charges have been brought against Bruce.
