Mustang vehicles with defective seat belts recalled

Ford Motor issued a recall of their recent Mustangs to fix a faulty seat belt sensor installed in the front seat due to a manufacturing error, a report on Consumer Affairs stated December 10.

The safety belt of some 2015 Mustangs may not accurately identify the size of a passenger occupying the front seat. The recall affects 50 units of Mustangs that were made last August through October. The problem may increase the risk of injuries of passengers during car crashes if the airbag improperly deploys. Ford reportedly will fix the problem by installing a new safety belt buckle in the affected vehicles, free of charge.
