Pedestrian succumbed to injuries after Whitefish Bay accident

The female pedestrian who was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle in Whitefish Bay was pronounced dead two days later, a Fox 6 article stated on May 29.

Reports said Hartland resident Kristen Caves, 26, succumbed to her injuries at 4:04 p.m. on May 28 at Froedtert Hospital. Caves was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Silver Spring Drive. The pedestrian accident apparently occurred when a vehicle stopped at the intersection was rear-ended by another vehicle. The force of this collision caused the car to suddenly jerk forward.

Blood samples were taken from the two drivers involved in the fatal accident, although they were not believed to have been impaired. According to reports, both were cooperative with police. State authorities are aiding the Whitefish Bay Police in their investigation. Later, they will help determine if charges will be filed.
