FCA recalls millions of pickups with airbag problems

Italian-American car manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) issued a recall on September 10 to more than 1.5 million pickup trucks in North America to fix two airbag problems, ABC News reported.

Reports said a wiring problem in the steering wheel affecting 1.35 million various truck models from 2012 to 2014 may result to inadvertent airbag deployment on the drivers’ side. FCA has been notified of two incidents that resulted in injuries from airbags deploying without collisions. The automaker is also recalling an estimated 188,000 previous and recent models of “Ram Quad Cab pickups” with side curtain airbags that may not protect back seat passengers during rollover crashes. FCA stated that there were no injuries or accidents reported in the second recall. FCA is already coordinating with consumers for the repair of their vehicles.
