4 injured in Milwaukee drunk driving accident

A wrong-way car accident caused by a suspected drunk driver in Milwaukee resulted in four people getting injured, two of whom were children, a June 19 article of Journal Sentinel reported.

Fran McLaughlin of the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office revealed 36-year-old Chaze Biami had a blood alcohol level of 0.14 percent when he drove his vehicle into the opposite lane of I-43 and had a head-on collision with another vehicle. Responding crews extracted the victims by tearing open the vehicle. The woman and her two children inside the other vehicle were hospitalized due to their injuries. McLaughlin told reporters that the woman suffered life-threatening injuries but was resuscitated on the scene before she was brought to the hospital. Biami, who was also injured from the crash, is facing multiple charges after authorities learned he was driving with a revoked driver’s license.
